At the same time I have seen one company bring a good product to market and constantly improve the product till it went from good to better to best. The company I am talking about is Intuit and the product that morphed and improved was the original Quicken till the current Quickbooks offering. In order to get new customers Intuit is offering a scaled down version of Quickbooks for free. Though it has limitation there are many small business owners that will find that this software is all they need.

If you are someone who has used manual accounting systems in the past they you might consider using Google docs spreadsheets to do your accounting. This would be ideal fro a full charge bookkeeper that already knows how bookkeeping figures should be summarized.
